Terms of use

This page is about the app, not about your repair. The terms of the actual work — what is being done, what it costs, warranty and your rights if something is not right — are written on the quote and the invoice the workshop sends you. If the two ever disagree, the quote and the invoice are the ones that count.

What this portal is

It is a place to see your vehicles, read and approve quotes, look at invoices, see your service history and book the car in. It is provided by the workshop you deal with, using Meckly's software.

Your account

You sign in with your phone number or your email, and a code we send you at the time. There is no password to lose.
Keep that phone or mailbox to yourself — anyone who can read the code can open your account.
Tell the workshop if your number or address changes, so quotes and reminders keep reaching you.

Approving a quote

Approving a quote in this portal is a real authorisation to carry out the work described on it, at the price shown. Where the workshop needs a signature, you will be asked for one before it counts.

If more work is found once the car is apart, the workshop must ask you again. That comes to you as its own approval, with its own price.

Prices and GST

Prices are shown with GST first, then the amount without GST, then the GST itself, so you can always see all three. A quote is valid until the date printed on it.

Paying

Where the workshop takes payment through this portal, card payments are handled by Stripe. Meckly and the workshop never see or store your full card number.

What we ask of you

Use the portal for your own vehicles and your own dealings with the workshop.
Do not try to reach anyone else's records, or to break, overload or reverse-engineer the service.
Give the workshop accurate details about the vehicle. A wrong rego or VIN buys the wrong parts.

Availability

We work to keep the portal up, and it will still sometimes be down for maintenance or for reasons outside our control. If you need something urgently, call the workshop — that always works.

Your rights under Australian law

Nothing here takes away rights you have under the Australian Consumer Law, including guarantees that services are carried out with due care and skill. Where those rights apply, they apply on top of anything on this page.

Ending it

You can stop using the portal at any time, and ask the workshop to close your account. Records the workshop is required to keep — invoices, service history, logbook entries — stay with the workshop, as they would on paper.
